Privacy
Short version: IkoLearn keeps your learning on your device. We at Ikosagon do not store your name, chats, cloud or cards on our servers.
On your device. Your first name, your recent conversation, your learning cloud and your cards, plus the topics you said you enjoy, are saved in this browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off. "Start over" clears them. Clearing your browser data does too.
When you send a message. Your message, your first name, your last few messages and a short summary of your cloud (subject and topic names) go to our server, which passes them to Google's Gemini API to write the reply. Our server does not keep them. On the free tier Google may use what is sent to improve its products, so please do not type anything private: no surnames, addresses, school names or contact details.
No age, no location. IkoLearn never asks how old you are or where you live, and it doesn't guess either: no location permission prompt, no time-zone or language guess, no location lookup. Nothing about your age or where you are goes to our server. If an older version of IkoLearn saved an age band or a rough region on this device, it is ignored now and cleared the next time your progress is saved.
What you enjoy. If you tell IkoLearn what you're curious about, those words are sent with the request that builds your first topics, so your path starts from things you like. Your path only starts from what you offer: if you skip the question, nothing is sent until you write something. If you also answer the optional question about something you'd like to grow in yourself, it goes in that same request. The topic names it makes are kept on this device.
Examples. The easy-click examples under the first question come from our server: one shared set, written by the AI about once a day and the same for everyone. Fetching them sends nothing about you, and tapping one is just like typing it.
Limits. To keep the service free we count requests per IP address for a short time, in memory only, to stop overuse.
Accuracy. Replies and cards are written by AI. They can be wrong, so check anything important against a trusted source.
Who it's for. IkoLearn is for anyone curious, at any age. Parents can also use it to plan and guide homeschool learning.
