IkoDesk

A procedure desk for a small business. Staff and customers ask in plain language. Answers come from the shop's own documents, and each one shows its source.

AIRAGSMBProduct

IkoDesk answers from your procedures, not from memory.

A small business already has the answers in return policies, price sheets, hours, and product notes. We at Ikosagon built IkoDesk so staff and customers can ask in plain language — and see the document the answer came from.

The problem

The usual failure is not a missing chatbot. It is two employees giving two different answers about a refund, a recall, or the hours on Tuesday. The policy exists. It is just buried in a file nobody opens during a rush.

What the client gets

  • One desk for the questions customers already ask.
  • An answer that cites the procedure it used.
  • A refusal when the documents do not cover the question, instead of a confident guess.
  • A backlog of the questions the desk could not answer. That list is the next procedure to write.
  • Updates by editing a document. The shop does not retrain a model to change a return window.

How a shop uses it

  1. Gather the documents the staff already trust: policies, SKUs, hours, warranties, recalls.
  2. Ask the questions customers actually call about.
  3. Read the cited passage next to the answer. If the passage is wrong, fix the document.
  4. Each week, read the questions that were refused. Write the missing procedure, add the file, and those questions start getting answers.

The sample

The public example is a fictional outdoor shop, Northwind Outfitters. Its procedures cover returns, a membership club, three store schedules, tents, garment repair, and a stove recall. It is a demonstration, not a client engagement.

IkoDesk sample desk for the fictional shop Northwind Outfitters, with customer themes around the message bar and the shop procedures listed on the left.

A visitor can ask things like:

  • Which fuel canister lot codes were recalled?
  • How long is a Boot Lab appointment, and which shop offers it?
  • What is the Summit Club annual fee, and when is the card billed?
  • How many days does a customer have to return an unused item?

IkoDesk answering which fuel canister lots were recalled for the Northwind sample, with the cited passages in the trace column.

An unrelated question, such as the population of a city, is refused. The desk does not spend an answer on something the procedures do not contain.

Proof

39 of 39 checks on the included question set. For every policy question, the correct procedure file was among the three passages retrieved. Off-topic questions were stopped before a model wrote an answer.

This is black-box QA on the sample desk — measured retrieval and refusal — not a customer case study and not a rounded-up marketing metric.

What happens next

IkoDesk can be stood up for another small business from that business's own documents. The first version is a sample desk the staff can try against their real questions. The backlog from that trial becomes the writing list.

The sample can be read from the screenshots on this page. A live public text box is not required to understand the offer — and this site does not host a live FastAPI desk (Hobby + API key is the wrong fit for a public demo). The next step is to request a desk built from the shop's own documents.
